ZERO ACCOUNTS.
TOTAL PRIVACY.
DropLock is a secure, easy way to store notes and share files without the setup. There are no accounts, no email signups, and we never track who you are. It’s just your data, and only you have the key to open it.
INSTEAD OF LOGGING INTO A COMPANY'S SYSTEM, DROPLOCK LETS YOU CREATE YOUR OWN PRIVATE SPACES ON THE FLY. IF YOU CLOSE A ROOM AND FORGET THE PASSWORD, NO ONE CAN EVER OPEN IT AGAIN.
THE HOMEPAGE
The homepage looks like an old-school computer terminal. This is your main gateway into DropLock. You won't find a "Sign Up" button here. Instead, you just type in any name you want to create a space.
HOW TO ENTER
A LOCKER
To get started, follow these simple steps right from the Terminal homepage:
- 01 LOCKER NAME: Type any name you want into the input box (e.g. "MySecretProject"). This is the identifier for your private space.
- 02 ACCESS LOCKER: Click the "Access Locker" button. If the locker already exists you'll be prompted to unlock it; if it's new, you'll create it.
- 03 PASSWORD: A modal will appear asking for your password. Enter a strong password — since we never store it, you must remember it!
- 04 OPEN: Hit "Unlock" or "Create Locker". Your private vault opens instantly.
INSIDE YOUR
PRIVATE LOCKER
Once you unlock your space, you enter your Private Locker. This is your personal dashboard for working, saving files, and writing notes safely.
- A NOTE VAULT: The left panel lists all your notes. Click any note to open the full editor. Use the + button to create new notes.
- B THE FILE VAULT: The right panel is your file storage. Drag and drop files here to attach them to your locker. Files are linked to notes.
- C THE SAVE BUTTON: Inside each note page, there is a "Save" button. Click it to persist your latest changes to the server.
LOCKER TOOLS
Besides saving and writing, the Locker has a few extra tools to protect you:
Theme Toggle: At the bottom of the sidebar inside your locker, there is a "TOGGLE THEME" button. Click it to switch between Dark and Light mode to suit your working environment.
Account Recovery: We can't reset passwords, but if you go to your Locker settings, you can attach an email address to get a secret code in case you ever forget your password.
THE TWO FILE TRANSFER METHODS
DropLock includes an entirely separate area just for sending files to other people. Click "TRANSFER FILES" at the top of any page to get started. Here is how both methods work:
This method connects your computer directly to your friend's computer. It is the fastest and safest because the file never touches our servers.
- 1 OPEN RADAR: Both you and your friend must go to the Transfer page and make sure "DIRECT P2P" is selected on the left menu.
- 2 SCAN: Click the large "SCAN" button in the center. Your radar will spin, and you will see your friend's computer pop up.
- 3 CONNECT: Click on your friend's name. A box will open asking you to accept the connection.
- 4 SEND: Drag and drop your files. It beams directly to them!
Use this method if your friend is not online right now. You upload the file to our temporary RAM servers, and they download it later.
- 1 SELECT ENCRYPTED: On the Transfer page, click the "ENCRYPTED" option on the left menu sidebar.
- 2 UPLOAD FILE: A box will appear. Drag your file into the box to start uploading.
- 3 GET THE CODE: The system will give you a bright cyan 6-digit code (e.g., 842-198). Send this code to your friend in a text message.
- 4 THEY DOWNLOAD: Your friend opens DropLock, selects "ENCRYPTED", types in the transfer code, and downloads the file. The temporary file is automatically deleted after 1 minute.
